Cuenca’s New Municipal Cemetery redefines the relationship between architecture and nature, creating a serene space for reflection and contemplation. Designed to blend harmoniously with the landscape, it respects the natural topography while incorporating subtle architectural elements that enhance its surroundings. Located in Santa Teresita de Monay, on an 11-hectare site adjacent to the Santa Ana Cemetery, the project is planned in phases to ensure long-term viability and sustainability. Prioritizing its connection with nature, the design features underground structures, green roofs, and protected areas, fostering a seamless transition between the earthly and the ethereal.
